We exist to recruit and develop exceptional Basotho leaders who serve in under-resourced public schools, work alongside communities and contribute to long-term systems change.
Who we are
A national movement in formation.
Teach For Lesotho is a non-profit, non-political education transformation initiative. We bring together graduates, qualified teachers who are not yet in service and mission-aligned professionals for a two-year teaching and leadership journey.
Fellows teach assigned classes and subjects, use child-centred and evidence-informed practice, support learner wellbeing and leadership, and work with families and communities on school-improvement priorities.
The initial Thaba-Tseka pilot and any later cohort remain subject to Government agreement, financing, candidate quality, training and safeguarding capacity, school readiness and credible monitoring systems.

Children are not defined by geography or family income.
Teach For Lesotho's student vision is a future where every Basotho child receives a quality, inclusive and child-centred education that enables them to thrive academically, socially, emotionally and economically.
Education should build knowledge, values and capability.
We care about foundational literacy and numeracy, communication, critical thinking, social and emotional competence, learner agency, Botho-guided citizenship and confidence.

The Fellowship prepares leaders for a lifetime of contribution across teaching, school leadership, public service, policy, research, entrepreneurship and community development.
Lasting change requires shared learning.
Evidence from classrooms and communities should improve local practice and inform wider education dialogue, without treating schools or learners as passive beneficiaries.

Funds are ring-fenced and reported transparently through agreed financial and impact reporting.
Non-political independence
No learner, Fellow, school or community may be used for partisan activity.
